Similar to yesterday's photo, some wildflowers and graffiti on the Railpath. Taken on 2010-06-06.

Sunset on the Railpath

Sunset on the Railpath

Went for a walk along the West Toronto Railpath and around the 'hood one evening a few weeks ago. The Crossways apartment complex at Dundas and Bloor was lit up nicely by the setting sun.

Beware of Dinosaur

Beware of Dinosaur

I was walking down the West Toronto Railpath on Sunday when I spotted this dinosaur looking at me over the fence of Solways, a scrap metal recycler / dealer.

I guess it's better than having a guard dog.

Railpath in Black and White

Railpath in Black and White

Last weekend's Junction Triangle Jane's Walk, on the West Toronto Railpath south of Bloor St.

This photo had poor colour, some fuzzy focus, and some haloing issues due to the lens filter and sunlight. I tried making it black and white, and thought it looked much better that way.

Speaking of the Railpath: Check out this "Then and Now" photo set I posted over on the Junction Triangle website.

Jane's Walk: West Toronto Railpath

Saturday, May 1 2010: At the start of the "Railpath Ramble" Jane's Walk. This was a neighbourhood walking tour of the West Toronto Railpath, led by a local resident and Railpath user.

Great turnout for the walk, despite the rain. We all had a good time learning more about the path, some neighbourhood history, and meeting up with other people.

They say "a picture is worth a thousand words".

I was walking home from the Dundas West subway station on Friday evening and decided to take this photo from the Dundas St. side of the Wallace Ave. pedestrian bridge. I always enjoy the view from here, especially since it contains two of our neighbourhood's most iconic sights: The bridge itself, and the old G.E. Water Tower near Lansdowne Ave.

When I came home and took a closer look at the photo, it struck me that there are many things going on within the frame of this picture. Little bits of history, neighbourhood icons, and changes that are happening rapidly. Here's what I spotted. Maybe there are some things I missed?

On the Railpath, being awesome is easy

On the Railpath, being awesome is easy

Jen and I were riding up the Railpath after work today when I spotted this poster. I stopped and turned around to have a closer look.

Funny stuff. But if we all do a little bit to keep the Railpath in good condition for each other, it will continue to be awesome.
