Counting sheep? I could scream?!

Counting sheep? I could scream?!

I've been trying to post a photo every day on my blog. Almost missed today's deadline by just a few minutes! This photo is from a walk I took a week ago. Some sheep-people (or something???) graffiti on the back of the Moloney Electric building on Sterling Rd.

Time for bed.

My neighbourhood rules

My neighbourhood rules

My neighbourhood rules. How often does YOUR neighbourhood have a Ukrainian marching band tour the whole 'hood playing Final Countdown and encouraging residents to come out to vote for a community naming project? Not too often, eh?

229 Wallace Ave.: Fuzzy Voting

229 Wallace Ave.: Fuzzy Voting

A cyclist rides past the former D&M Hardware building at 229 Wallace Ave. in my 'hood. This building was transformed into a temporary canvas displaying the top 10 names for the "Fuzzy Boundaries" neighbourhood naming project. Voting wraps up tomorrow, Sunday March 14th.

The building is supposed to be demolished a couple of weeks from now to make way for a new commercial structure.

Paton Rd. Pigeon Silhouettes

Paton Rd. Pigeon Silhouettes

Someone hung these pigeon silhouettes on the fence of the former TTC streetcar yard at Lansdowne and Paton. There are a few other silhouettes hung on this fence too, adding a bit of life to the fence around this derelict property.

Some kind of shutoff valve behind the shuttered Moloney Electric building on Sterling Rd.

Even the dogs were out enjoying the Spring-like weather on Sunday.

As seen on Bloor St., just east of Symington Ave.

Tower Automotive is broken

Tower Automotive is broken

It was the most beautiful spring-like weekend so far this year, so I went out for a walk around the neighbourhood yesterday.

This photo was taken while looking in to the Tower Automotive building on Sterling Rd.

Dundas and Bloor: The Crossways

Dundas and Bloor: The Crossways

The Crossways: An often-maligned residential tower / office complex / mini-mall on the north-east corner of Dundas and Bloor.

Personally, I don't think it's as ugly as some people say it is, and I often find that it's practical (at least the drug store and bank). The jerry-can-in-a-shopping-cart sure gives it a bit of a ghetto feeling though.

Snowy morning at Dundas West Station

Snowy morning at Dundas West Station

February 26, 2010. Looking north at Dundas West subway station, on my way to work in the morning. Hopefully the last snowfall of the year?

Snowy Bloor GO Train Station

Snowy Bloor GO Train Station

February 26, 2010: Walking west on Bloor St. next to the Bloor GO Train Station.

It has been a wimpy winter, and the weather has started warming up again. Maybe this was the last snow storm of the year?
