May 5, 2012, next to the Wave Deck on Queen's Quay, Toronto. Taken during the "Toronto’s Changing Waterfront" Jane's Walk.
I haven't been posting much on this "blog" lately. Again. Too much other stuff going on, and more time is consumed with Daddy / Family stuff these days. But that's a good thing!
I've also been cycling less these day. But walking much more. So here's a selfie I took on a recent Jane's Walk along Toronto's waterfront. You can see more photos from that day here.
Remember my goal to post a photo here every day? Haha! I'll try to post regularly again, but definitely not daily.
February 15, 2012. A self-portrait in a window on Dupont St., Toronto.
I had taken the day off work to bring Alex to the Doctor, and ended up walking home from downtown along the full length of Dupont St., snapping photos along the way.
I haven't been posting much on my website/blog lately. Maybe that'll change again soon.
March 20, 2011. A utility pole at Symington and Kingsley, in Carleton Village (The Junction), Toronto.
October 17, 2010, at the corner of Pacific Ave. and Stockton St., in Chinatown, San Francisco.
After visiting the Cable Car museum, I was treated to some west coast rain while wandering around Chinatown looking for lunch. (If you step away from the touristy Chinatown strip, you can find some delicious and cheap eats. I stuffed myself with a $4 plate of noodles, while seated at a big table with friendly locals.) Smartly, many of the locals carry umbrellas for exactly these rainy moments. I had a rain jacket and hat, so I managed to do OK too.
It's also worth noting, though probably not interesting at all for 99.9999% of people, that I had trouble finding this exact location on Google Streetview, as the name/signage on the Wing Sun Market has completely changed.
Note: Yeah, my "daily" photo posts have been on the rocks for the last couple of months. I still want to post more of my San Francisco pics from last October, and keep up with some more current things. But sometimes other commitments, of the small/crying/pooping variety, tend to change my focus.
February 2, 2011. Toronto is currently in the icy grip of a major snowstorm. Fear the snow! Stay in your homes! Schools are cancelled!
Being a brave soul, I risked life and limb to explore the destruction. Miraculously, I survived and came back with some photos. And then I went to work like any other day, without any delays. Meh.
Photo taken in the junkyard on Wade Ave. near Bloor and Lansdowne, Toronto.
January 8, 2010. The step up into a truck, during a snowstorm. Penguins holding hands? Snow angels? I dunno... Photo taken behind the Caldense Bakery on Symington Ave., in the Junction Triangle.
January 8, 2011. Spotted this sign in the alley behind Campbell Ave. south of Dupont while out for a morning walk during a snowstorm.
January 8, 2011. I was out for a walk yesterday morning during the snowstorm. This photo was taken on Dupont St. at the rail underpass between Campbell and Lansdowne Avenues. The businessman stencil is part of Joel Richardson's mural.
January 8, 2011. An early morning storm was dropping about 10-15cm of snow around Toronto. Finally! I took advantage of it by going out for a long morning walk around the Junction Triangle while the snow was still coming down hard. Couldn't have asked for better weather for a morning walk. Just had to be careful to keep the camera dry.
This photo was taken at the Wallace Market, at the corner of Symington and Wallace Avenues. It's quite the photogenic little store, judging by all the photos that show up on Flickr and other sites. The vignettes (dark corners) in this photo were accidental, caused by a crooked lens hood which I corrected after taking this photo.
