The Bloordale Pantry's pancake eating contest during the New Bloor Festival, Saturday July 24 2010.
I caught this round of the contest after grabbing some lunch / escaping the rain at the Bloordale Pantry. After lunch, the rain went away for long enough to have this round of the contest so I watched it all go down. The crowd was cheering, syrup was spilled, kids were stuffing their faces...all in good fun. I'm surprised nobody puked. :-) The kid in blue ended up winning this round.
A short while later, I saw him eating more pancackes. A true champion who loves his sport.
Looking into the window of the Toronto Free Gallery (currently the "Change" exhibit) during the New Bloor Festival on Saturday.
Sunday May 2, 2010. Near the start of last weekend's Jane's Walk through the Junction Triangle neighbourhood in west Toronto. Walking west along Wallace Ave., crossing the tracks into the triangle.
If you need a styrofoam head for any reason, go to Value Village near Bloor and Lansdowne. They're only $2.99 each.
I was out for a walk after work on Tuesday by McGregor Park (near Lansdowne / Whytock / St. Helens) when I saw these guys riding by carrying a rug between the frames of their bicycles. I caught up to them as they turned onto Lansdowne and snapped a few photos.
I always like seeing people do creative, practical things with human power.
Someone hung these pigeon silhouettes on the fence of the former TTC streetcar yard at Lansdowne and Paton. There are a few other silhouettes hung on this fence too, adding a bit of life to the fence around this derelict property.
